Lazio momentarily took control at the top of the Serie A standings after overcoming newly-promoted Brescia at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Aquile enjoyed most of the chances in the opening period and Mauro Zarate saw a wonderful effort denied by Matteo Sereni as the glovesman palmed a vicious free kick over the bar. Stefano Mauri broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time as he connected with a Hernanes through pass and followed up with a killer finish.
After the break the visitors looked to find a way back but rarely troubled the home side who maintained possession and kept organised from back to front.
