Getafe Coach Michel Refuses To Comment On Pedro Leon's Exclusion From Real Madrid's Champions League Squad

Getafe coach Michel refused to be drawn into discussing the exclusion of Pedro Leon from Real Madrid’s recent Champions League trip to take on Auxerre, despite suggestions that a visit to his house by the player may have played a part in Jose Mourinho’s decision.

Marca commented earlier this week that the Portuguese had been angered by Leon’s failure to execute his instructions during the 0-0 La Liga draw with Levante last weekend, and also that he had allegedly paid a visit to his former coach on the Monday prior to the team’s departure for France.

Michel, speaking to Radio Marca after his side had crashed 2-0 to Young Boys in their Europa League encounter in Switzerland, said he did not want to become embroiled in the situation, saying: “I have nothing to say. Do I now have to justify which people come to my house?"

Mourinho’s decision to leave Leon out of his squad sparked a number of journalists to enquire as to why he had made this decision, prompting the coach to blast “Pedro Leon is not Zinedine Zidane”, before storming out of Monday’s press conference.

Michel’s injury-hit side were defeated in Bern, leaving them with three points from their two Europa League matches played so far.
