Nigerian international Taye Taiwo could be on his way out of French champions Olympique Marseille as German title holders Bayern Munich have shown an interest in signing the full-back, according to a report in France Football.
The Bavarians have been in disappointing form this term and head coach Louis van Gaal is believed to be eager to add a high profile name to his back-line in the January transfer window.
Bayern have previously been linked with Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa and Ajax star Gregory van der Wiel, but FC Hollywood have now apparently set their sights on the 25-year-old Taiwo.
Taiwo's current contract with Marseille runs until the summer of 2011 and the Nigerian defender is reluctant to sign a new deal at L'OM. Therefore, Marseille are keen to cash in on the left back in the winter transfer window.
However, Bayern reportedly face stiff competition in the race for Taiwo's signature. Clubs such as Inter and Chelsea are also keen on the highly rated wing-back.
