Barcelona Stars Dani Alves, Andres Iniesta & Victor Valdes Concerned By Mallorca Draw

Barcelona players have admitted after their 1-1 home draw with Mallorca that they are concerned at their inability to convert the chances they are creating, and that they must improve in front of goal.

Lionel Messi had given the Blaugrana a first half lead, but Emilio Nsue equalised and despite the hosts enjoying almost total territorial domination, they could not find the winning goal.

Full-back Dani Alves was first to comment, saying: “When the ball does not go into the net, it is difficult to win. We have to put up with it, and ensure that we improve.”

Andres Iniesta’s remarks to journalists were similar, conceding: “When we generate so many chances and do not score, something is wrong. We tried everything, but could only score one goal.

“We hope to have the luck in the next few games and try to put in a little bit more.”

Finally Victor Valdes concluded that although he feels the team are performing better now than in previous seasons, they have been unfortunate that they are not finding the net as often as they should.

He added: “I think the team is playing even better now than they have previously, but every year is more difficult for us, and we just need a bit of luck.”

Barcelona face a tough match versus league leaders Valencia after the international break.
