Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez will be out of action for three weeks after sustaining a torn hamstring during the 1-1 draw versus Mallorca on Sunday evening.
Pedro appeared to twist while attempting to turn on the Camp Nou turf, and immediately signalled to the bench that he was unable to continue.
Medical examinations have today confirmed that there is a tear in his left hamstring muscle, and the recuperation period is set at a minimum of three weeks in order to allow the injury to completely heal.
Pedro is now likely to miss Barcelona’s key league clash with Valencia in two weeks time, and is also likely to be absent from the Champions League clash with Copenhagen as well as the trip to Zaragoza.
More immediately, however, he is the latest name to withdraw from Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad for the upcoming internationals versus Lithuania and Scotland.
Fernando Torres and Jesus Navas have also been forced to withdraw as a result of injuries picked up for their respective clubs over the weekend.
