Valencia Star David Silva Happy Ligament Damage Not Serious

Valencia midfielder David Silva has declared himself happy that the injury he sustained in the draw with Mallorca at the weekend is only likely to rule him out of action for a month.

Silva suffered ligament damage in his right knee in the 1-1 draw at the Mestalla and initial fears suggested he could have been out of action for a long time, but scans on Sunday revealed that he is likely to miss around four weeks of football.

The 24-year-old says he is confident that the team can still get results in his absence, starting with a win against Lille in the Europa League. Silva is certain to miss the visit of Real Madrid to the Mestalla in a little under a fortnight.

"I'm very confident in the team. The draw against Mallorca was a pity because we created many chances but we are in a good shape and I am not sure if my injury will affect the team," he told Super Deporte.
