VVV Venlo Already Turning To Japan For Keisuke Honda's Replacement

Dutch club VVV Venlo are already looking at a Japanese replacement for their star player Keisuke Honda.

Honda, an international with Japan, has been in fine form for newly-promoted club in the Eredivisie this season and has been linked with a move to England.

Venlo are resigned to losing the 23 year-old midfielder at the end of the season but have been so impressed with the ex-Nagoya Grampus man that they will look east again for a Honda Mark II.

Venlo technical manager Mario Captein told local media: "It's right that we are searching for a successor in Japan as Keisuke will probably leave after the World Cup."

"We have serious interest in a player, Captein continued and added, "Maybe we will be able to sign this player in January."

Honda has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea as well as the traditional Dutch powerhouses.

The player’s agent said recently that a move to England appeals.
