Sampdoria midfielder Angelo Palombo expressed his disappointment for the performance and result in the 3-0 defeat against Genoa on Saturday evening, in the 'derby della lanterna'.
The match was one-sided, with Palombo admitting that the Blucerchiati were never in the game, thus allowing their opponents to win easily.
"Our fans don't deserve this," commented the Italian player to Sky. "We let go, we were never in the game and we practically did not play.
"You don't lose a derby in this way. I'm the first one to say sorry to everyone. Now we must lick our wounds and think already about Tuesday and Saturday, where we have two important games.
"[Raffaele] Palladino's celebration? We were in the national team together, I know him, he's a good lad, but I got very angry.
"If I had scored, I would have never gone to celebrate under the Nord curve, because these episodes can become very dangerous outside the pitch."
Sampdoria remain in fourth place with 24 points from 14 games played as they await today's results.
