Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has confessed he is a big admirer of Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino after watching the Viola defeat his team 1-0 this week.“I have always liked Gilardino,” Aulas is quoted as saying in the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.
“And they were rather fond of our [Anthony] Reveillere two summers ago.
“The rapport between Lyon and Fiorentina is excellent and I reckon that some deals could go through in the future.”
Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli has regularly guided the Gigliati to a top-four finish in Serie A since arriving in Tuscany in 2005, and the 52-year-old has now managed to steer the club into the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time in a decade.
“The fact that Fiorentina have progressed to the last 16 of this competition confirms how great a tactician Prandelli is,” concluded Aulas.
