
"The first half they did much better, but in the second half we did better," he said to Sky.
"There was a clear penalty for us which could have given us confidence, when there was still a lot of time left. But what can I say, we are far behind in terms of individual quality, they play better.
"They did well without [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Lionel] Messi, but it's as if they were there. For them it's not a problem, they have a clear playing organisation. We missed [Wesley] Sneijder much more than they missed those two players."
The Nerazzurri struggled for large portions of the match and failed to put any significant pressure on the Blaugrana.
"I expected a team with more desire to play, with less fear. The team struggled under Barcelona's pressure," the former Chelsea boss concluded.
Now Inter need a win in their last match at home against Rubin Kazan to make sure they qualify for the next round.
