Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel was defiant following his team's loss to Borussia Dortmund. Despite the 2-0 scoreline, the Dutchman insisted that die Roten were the better side.
"We had to win the game," he told ZDF. "In every game, we are the better team, but sometimes you have to win the fight more than the game."
After a rather evenly played first half, Dortmund scored twice, and Bayern had no answer.
The loss marked the Bavarians' second consecutive defeat. Currently off to their worst ever start to a domestic campaign, Bayern are now 13 points behind leaders Mainz.
