Sevilla winger Diego Capel has stated that the influence of new coach Gregorio Manzano is already being felt across the club, following their impressive 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday.
Goals from Alvaro Negredo, Diego Perotti and Frederic Kanoute handed los Nervionenses a morale-boosting win and maintained Manzano’s 100% record.
Speaking to journalists after the victory, the 22-year-old remarked that the coach has made it clear what is expected of them, and that gave them the impetus to drive to an excellent victory.
He said: “In the little time he’s been with us, he’s instilled in us exactly what he wants and has shown us his experience. We have seen a spectacular Sevilla today, and that’s what we all want.
“The team is happy. We’ve achieved two important victories in a row and the break comes at a good time for us. The team has done a great job. We knew that Atletico Madrid would be a difficult opponent, and we have achieved a great victory.”
Sevilla’s next outing after the international break is a trip to El Molinon to face Sporting Gijon, in two weeks time.
