The FA will conduct an enquiry into an incident where a fake camera was thrown onto the pitch during Sunday's Premier League game between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
Press Association Sport reports that the object, which appeared to be thrown in the direction of Blues midfielder Frank Lampard, had to be removed from the pitch by referee Andre Marriner during the first half.
The referee has mentioned the incident in his match report, which means that the FA will examine events more closely.
Arsenal will be contacted for their view on the incident, while CCTV footage and eye-witness statements may be used as evidence.
Fans who have been caught after throwing coins at coaches, players and officials in recent years have been punished with banning orders.
However, as no serious injury occurred and the object did not strike anyone, the chance of sanctions against the Gunners are minimal.
