Gianluigi Buffon: Juventus Have To 'Wake Up' In The Champions League

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has told his team to "wake up" and smell the coffee in the Champions League.

Buffon was outstanding against Girondins de Bordeaux. His saves during the game prevented Juve from losing, but the Italian is still annoyed with the way his colleagues stepped off the gas.

"We wanted to win, and we believed we could, but unfortunately there were minor details that were overlooked," Buffon told Tuttosport.

"Sometimes in Europe you have to wake up. It's not just about the suffering, but also about playing better football. We need to do this by playing with personality and certainty."

The Italian international is glad he delivered an encouraging performance when his side were on the downward spiral.

"I am really happy that I did my work well, but not so happy about conceding. They were stronger than we thought they would be. Personally I am in form and I feel fine," added the 'keeper.
