If Napoli want €40m for Marek Hamsik, there is no chance he will join AC Milan

Club chief insists they are unlikely to move for the Slovakia international unless Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis lowers demands over transfer fee

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has claimed that Marek Hamsik will not be joining the club during the summer as Napoli's asking price for the Slovakian is too high.

The 23-year-old recently said he would like to join the Italian champions, and stated his belief that such a move would help develop his career.

Napoli reacted to those comments by slapping a €40 million price tag on the player, who is contract to the San Paolo side until 2015, and Galliani feels that their demands are excessive.

"If [Napoli president Aurelio] De Laurentiis says €40m will cover their costs then there is no chance of seeing Hamsik at Milan," Galliani told Sportmediaset.

Milan have also been linked with moves for Alberto Aquilani and Riccardo Montolivo as they search for a replacement for the departed Andrea Pirlo, who has joined Juventus.
