Atletico Madrid coach Quique Flores admitted a change in system did not work as his side succumbed to Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Andalusia.
Los Colchoneros were beaten 3-1 by their hosts with goals from Alvaro Negredo, Diego Perotti and Frederic Kanoute securing the three points for Sevilla before Diego Costa pulled one back for the visitors.
"We played against a good team. The change of system didn't work, but when changed back we did better. With this different system, Sevilla took the opportunity and became more aggressive, getting ahead on the scoreboard. Then from there, everything becomes difficult, time passes by, balls are wasted and the play just never happened," he was quoted as saying by AS.
"There was a certain lack of aggression on our part, however, in the second half we got rid of that uncertainty when we reverted to our usual system. We could have scored again. It's my fault that we lost."
