Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed his side found it “easy” against Chelsea despite their 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Gunners were sunk as Didier Drogba scored his 13th goal in as many games in a crafty flick in the 39th minute before Brazilian defender Alex smashed home a stunning free-kick five minutes from time to seal the points.
The result stretches Chelsea's lead in the Premier League to four points over Manchester City, while Carlo Ancelotti's side are now seven points clear of Arsenal.
Arsenal missed some glorious chances at Stamford Bridge – not least a header from Laurent Koscielny in the opening moments – and Wenger was frustrated by his side's profligacy in front of goal after they "dominated" throughout the 90 minutes.
He said: “I feel sorry for my players today. They had a fantastic attitude but we were not rewarded. We dominated the game, it was surprisingly easy but we go home with zero points.
“The game should have been over before we started it. I don't know how we missed that header from six yards and at this level you get punished. When you have the chances we had today, you need to score.
“We have to be more clinical to win championships, we cannot afford to lose games like that. We had Chelsea on the ropes for long periods of the game.
“It was one-way traffic in the second-half. We missed too many chances and we needed to be more clinical, despite a great team performance.
“They have quality strikers and they punished us. I don't want to judge Chelsea's style, when you win you're right.”
