Harry Kewell (Galatasaray, Turkey)
Failed to trouble the scorers or have any real chances on goal in what was a fiery encounter away against Buraspor, Galatasaray slumping to a 1-0 defeat.
Tim Cahill, Lucas Neill (Everton, England)
Cahill was unlucky not to score as Everton were beaten 2-0 at Goodison Park by fierce rivals Liverpool, denied by a good stop from Pepe Reina before being replaced in the 81st minute. Neill was an 86th minute substitute. Both played full games in the 3-2 defeat to Hull at the KC Stadium in midweek.
Mark Schwarzer, (Fulham, England)
Kept a clean sheet in the midweek win over Blackburn Rovers but failed to do so again at Craven Cottage as Roy Hodgson’s men were held to a 1-1 draw by Bolton.
Brett Emerton, Vince Grella (Blackburn Rovers, England)
Emerton played a full game on the weekend and Grella was a half-time introduction after having played a full game in the 3-0 defeat at Fulham in midweek, Emerton not in the squad for that clash.
Mark Bresciano (Palermo, Italy)
Played a full game as his side were beaten 1-0 on the road by Chievo Verona. Backed up from playing in the midweek 4-1 win over Reggina in the Coppa Italia, where he was involved in the build-up to the penalty that brought about the opening goal.
Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow, Russia)
Played a full game in his side’s 2-1 derby victory away against FC Moscow.
Scott McDonald (Celtic, Scotland)
Made the points safe for his side, scoring their third goal as they beat St Mirren 3-1 to take advantage of Rangers’ defeat this weekend and go top of the Scottish Premier League. Missed a late penalty and the ensuing rebound though.
Richard Garcia (Hull City, England)
Unfortunate not to have scored in either the 3-2 home win over Everton in midweek or the 1-1 away draw with Manchester City on the weekend, playing 78 minutes against the Toffees and having a full game against City.
Brett Holman, James Holland (AZ Alkmaar, Netherlands)
Holman was replaced in the 76th minute of the 2-0 home win over VVV Venlo but not before scoring his side’s second goal, an outstanding counter-attacking move that he started. Ran the length of the pitch to slam the ball past the ‘keeper with a clinical finish that we perhaps have not seen enough of when he has been wearing a Socceroos jersey. No place in the squad for Holland.
Nikita Rukavytsya, David Carney (FC Twente, Netherlands)
Carney was an unused substitute and Rukavytsya wasn’t on the bench for the 3-1 win away against Willem II.
Dario Vidosic, Matthew Spiranovic (Nurnberg, Germany)
Vidosic came off the bench in the 67th minute of the 1-0 defeat to visiting Freiburg but there was no place amongst the substitutes for Spiranovic.
Carl Valeri (Grossetto, Italy)
Wasn’t in the squad for the away defeat against Lecce.
Brad Jones, Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough, England)
Williams wasn’t in the squad for the 2-2 draw at Peterborough but Jones played a full game and made a couple of decent stops.
Nick Carle (Crystal Palace, England)
An unused substitute in the 3-0 home win over Watford.
Adam Federici (Reading, England)
Played a full game as his side were beaten 2-1 away by Derby.
Shane Lowry (Plymouth Argyle, England)
Match abandoned due to a dangerous playing surface, with his side 4-1 down against Barnsley in the second half.
Ruben Zadkovich (Derby County, England)
Didn’t make the bench as Nigel Clough’s side won at home.
Patrick Kisnorbo, Neil Kilkenny (Leeds United, England)
Full games for both Aussies on the weekend in the 1-0 home win over Leyton Orient, though only Kilkenny played in the 1-1 FA Cup draw away against Kettering Town in midweek.
Michael Theoklitos (Norwich City, England)
On the bench for the 4-1 home win over Brighton in the league before not being in the squad for the 3-1 defeat to Carlisle United in the FA Cup.
Oliver Bozanic (Cheltenham Town, England)
Yet to return to the bench as his side beat Barnet 5-1 at home.
Bruce Djite (Genclerbirligi, Turkey)
Came off the bench in the 61st minute of his side’s 2-0 defeat away to Antalyaspor.
Mile Jedinak (Antalyaspor, Turkey)
The midfielder scored a sharp double in the 2-0 home win over Genclerbirligi – the side who have loaned him out - the first a glancing header from a set-piece and the second, showing good composure to chest the ball down inside the area and fire under the ‘keeper from close range – and he might have had a hat-trick had he converted one other chance.
James Troisi (Kayserispor, Turkey)
Wasn’t involved in the 1-0 defeat at Manisaspor.
Michael Petkovic (Sivasspor, Turkey)
Hardly convinced as his side were beaten 1-0 at home by Besiktas. Partly at fault for the goal after electing to dive to try to stop a low cross into the box but failing to get to it and was otherwise caught out of position and almost embarrassed on a couple of occasions.
Scott Chipperfield (FC Basel, Switzerland)
Played a full game as his side were beaten 2-0 on the road by Young Boys, leaving them seven points behind their title contenders in second place.
Ante Covic (Elfsborg, Sweden)
Swedish season finished.
Nathan Burns (Kerkyra, Greece)
Replaced on 56 minutes with his side cruising at home, ending up 4-0 winners over recently-relegated Super League outfit Panserraikos and continuing their promotion push.
Trent McClenahan, James Wesolowski (Hamilton, Scotland)
McClenahan was a last-minute substitute while Wesolowski played a full game in the 1-1 draw at St Johnstone.
