West African nation Ghana begin the quest to beef up its goalkeeping force by applying to FIFA for ex-Norway U21 international goal tender Adam Kwarasey to switch nationality to play for the Black Stars.
The 21-year-old, who plays for top Norway side Stromgodset, acquired his Ghanaian passport two weeks ago which has helped the Ghana FA to submit his application.
“He has his passport now so we have moved on that and sent the necessary documents to FIFA. We are waiting for their decision now,” GFA vice president Fred Pappoe as quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.
The goalkeeper was born to a Ghanaian father and a Norwegian mother which makes his eligible to play for the Black Stars. His father has also provided all the necessary documents to enable FIFA to act promptly on Kwarasey’s nationality switch.
